OHAL Facebook; House Rules
If you can't be polite, don't say it. We do not wish to stifle discussion and we won't always agree with one another. However to continue to participate we ask people to be mindful of what they post on the site, remember if you wouldn't say it, don't write it. Focus remarks on positions, not personalities. We will not tolerate personal attacks, name calling, libel, defamation, comments about someone's family, hate speech, I could go on but you get the idea. Under NO circumstances should you post anything that could be taken as threatening, harassing, bullying, obscene, pornographic, sexist or racist.
Don't use obscenities. This is a public forum that we want everyone to feel comfortable in participating, so please be mindful of the language you use, even if it is used in conversation.
Anything you post should be your own work. You are welcome to link to relevant content but please refrain from copy and pasting information and passing off as your own work.
Please stay on topic. While we welcome feedback we ask that it is relevant to the topic being discussed
Rambling, a good form of exercise but can get boring on a discussion forum. Try to keep comments below 400 words. We will reserve the right to edit for clarity and other purposes.
Please respect people's privacy. We are all happy to learn about new and interesting individuals, most people won't take very kindly to having their phone numbers or email addresses published. Please do not share yours or others contact details through our discussion forum.
Not a place for advertising, recruiting, campaigning. Use your best judgment on this one and we will use ours, it can be a fine line between discussing and campaigning.
Do not feed the trolls. We encourage members to report abuse by trolls. We also ask that you do not engage with trolls, by reacting to their comments it is feeding their attention.
OHAL will reserve the right not to publish rumours, allegations or other conspiracy theories.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. OHAL is not responsible for the content posted by its users. We do not and cannot review all user content posted however, we do have the right to review, screen, delete, edit and/or move any content posted.
Failure to adhere to the guidelines will result in users being banned from making further comments
