The Association's Low Cost Home Ownership (LCHO) is funded through the Scottish Government's Low-Cost Initiative for First Time Buyers (LIFT) which includes a range of options to help households to get onto the housing ladder.

LCHO options are schemes aimed at helping people on low incomes who wish to own their own home but who cannot afford to pay the full price of a house and will be available to:-

  • First time buyers
  • Existing or previous home owners unable to sustain or move back into home ownership due to a significant change in their household circumstances.

When allocating properties, priority will be given to people who:-

  • are currently living in Council or OHAL rented housing
  • are in the Armed Forces or veterans who have left the forces in the last 12 months
  • need to live in the area for employment, training/education or to give, receive support
  • are living in a Below Tolerable Standard property
  • have a disability and are unable to purchase or adapt a house to suit their needs
